Friday of week two
Its our anniversary so before whizzing to Yellowstone National Park I dragged Jo around The Battle of the Little Big Horn National Park.
What a humbling experience, and in my opinion tactics were a bit of a mess. Will tell more when home. But boy these men were either mad or very brave.
Some pics
Entrance of course
The plaque at the memorial
The memorial and hansome me!!
The markers have been placed where each soldiers remains were found. Custers marker is the one in the middle of the picture. His remains are now buried at West Point New York unlike the soldiers whos remains are under the Last Stand memorial.
This is where Reno was chased up the hill after his attack on the village, very steep 30 or 40 US troops died here.
The defence, if Custer had retreated to here he would have survived.
